Free NAMI Family to Family Training Offered in January 2011
The NAMI Family to Family class is a 12-week, 30 hour class presented by the EastBay affiliate of NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness). It is geared for family members of individuals with mental illness. The curriculum was developed by Dr. Joyce Burland on the NAMI National staff and covers all aspects of mental illness, including different diagnoses, medications, neurology, theory, problem solving, communication, empathy, advocacy; the class descriptions are listed on our website, www.nami.org/sites/namieastbay. The class is free and each participant will be given weekly materials. This winter's class will be held Thursday evenings, January 27 to April 14, 7-9:30 PM in Albany.
