Perinatal Treatment Services Description

Residential

Residential treatment programs are 24-hour, live-in facilities for individuals with substance abuse problems. Services include intake and assessment, treatment planning, individual and group counseling, training/education, case management, social/recreational activities, transportation, TB services, medication, collateral services, and crisis intervention. Other specialized services vary with individual facilities. Treatment length varies from 3 – 18 months. These programs can usually accommodate one child of a woman admitted into treatment.
Day Care Habiliative

Day Care Habiliative programs provide outpatient counseling and rehabilitative services to individuals with substance abuse problems. Clients attend the program 2-4 hours a day, 3-5 days a week. Clients participate in regular, structured, supervised treatment services such as intake and assessment, treatment planning, individual and group counseling, training/education, case management, social/recreational activities, transportation, TB services, medication, collateral services, and crisis intervention. Other specialized services vary with individual facilities. These programs can accommodate the children of a women admitted into treatment.
Outpatient

Outpatient programs provide counseling services to individuals with substance abuse problems. Services generally include intake and assessment, treatment planning, individual and group counseling, and training/education. Case management, social/recreational activities, transportation, TB services, medication, collateral services, crisis intervention and other services may also be provided. These programs can accommodate the children of a woman admitted into treatment.
Narcotic Treatment Program

Narcotic Treatment Programs provide individuals addicted to heroin or other opiate drugs, with daily doses of a legal regulated substitute drug. This narcotic replacement therapy may be for the purpose of detoxification or maintenance. Individual and group counseling are a part of treatment. Replacement drugs used include methadone and LAAM.
Case Management

Case management is a participant-centered, goal-oriented process for assessing the needs of an individual for particular services; assisting her in obtaining those services, and reviewing accomplishments, outcomes, and barriers in competing recovery goals. Case Management may be either an element of a recovery/treatment program or a free-standing service.
