Bay Area Services Network (BASN)
CASE MANAGEMENT CONTRACT
This is to alert you that there will be a further delay in BASN case management services. We have been informed by ADP that the new date for commencement of these services is now scheduled for January 1st, 2010.
As a reminder, we are still operating under the terms of the Interim Plan (below). BASN providers should continue to use the interim tracking form for admissions, transfers and discharges to and from Alameda County BASN programs, until further notice.
Furthermore, The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, Division of Addiction and Recovery Services (DARS) has been renamed to the Office of Substance Abuse Treatment Services (OSATS).

NOTICE - BASN PROVIDERS
![]()
The current case management contract for the Bay Area Services Network (BASN) held by Center Point Inc. will expire on June 30, 2009. Due to various obstacles the new case management contract will not be in place prior to the expiration date of the current contract.
The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation's Contract Office advised the Division of Addiction and Recovery Services (DARS) and the California Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs (ADP) that the new contract will be in place by September 1, 2009. This anticipated delay will result in a two month lapse in contractor services for the BASN program.
Effective July 1st, 2009, Alameda County BHCS will implement and interim plan to continue referrals to BASN providers in an attempt to mitigate a loss in services to parolees in need of substance abuse treatment.
Attached are the following:
- An informational letter from the Division of Addiction and Recovery Services (DARS).
- The interim plan for a “workaround” to continue referrals to BASN providers.
- A current listing of BASN providers.
- An interim tracking form for admissions, transfers and discharges to and from Alameda County BASN programs, and
- A site map of providers.
Any questions regarding the interim plan should be referred to Mario Alvarez, Alameda County BASN Coordinator at 510-567-8127, or e-mail: malvarez@acbhcs.org.
